We are looking for someone who loves working with other people and getting their hands dirty! There will be time for some on-the-job training at the beginning of the season. The position requires sharing and teaching knowledge of sustainable/organic gardening practices. Basic carpentry is required for the building of the garden beds, and can be taught to candidates excelling in other areas. No academic degree, prior experience in program coordination, evaluation, record keeping or other non-profit work required.
This is a physically demanding position, candidate must be able to shovel and move large amounts of soil and lumber in and out of a truck bed and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
This is a part time seasonal position with 25 hours from 3/1 to 5/30 and then 15 hours per week from 6/1 to 9/30. Schedule is somewhat flexible and includes activities on a few evenings and every Sunday. Pay is hourly at a rate of $16 per hour.
