This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment; Connection Systems business unit.
Summary (About this Position):
The Americas Connection Systems Team currently has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Program Management overseeing our regional program management team. This position is located in metro Detroit and will report directly to the VP & Managing Director - AMR Connection Systems.
Responsibilities:
Direct all program management activity regarding automotive OEMs.
Improve profitability of existing business/programs.
Ensure flawless launch on all future business/programs.
Provide strategic program management planning and support including program budgeting and forecasting.
Collaborate with Business Management & Strategic Planning to align and prioritize initiatives within program roadmap establishing integrated program view.
Ensure a standardized approach to the management of all projects/programs.
Act as a primary business contact to define business requirements and opportunities for business improvement within the Strategic Program activity and assist business owners with the review of high level requirements for future business demand.
Oversee the tracking of program and project benefits to be realized.
Responsible for accurate consolidated project/program reporting (governance and monthly financials), support client reporting and seek executive guidance and approvals as necessary.
Ensure all program managers effectively track deliverables and milestones while providing regular status updates to project stakeholders.
Drive estimation, planning, organizing and monitoring the activities of cross-functional teams while maintaining overall control of schedules, risks and committed deliverables.
Support the identification, assessment and communication of project risks.
Ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting and financial management is conducted within each project.
Provide oversight, guidance and remediation for troubled projects and identify, when possible, the conditions that require remedy to prevent a project from becoming troubled.
Manage the sourcing of and career development, as well as, performance management of program managers.
Work independently and handle frequently changing needs of an organization that is constantly evolving.
Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
Must Haves (i.e. Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline), Business or Management.
10 + years' experience developing products from concept to product launch.
10+ years' experience in the automotive or automotive supplier business.
7+ years of program management experience with project management, business process redesign, organizational development and process improvement.
5+ years' experience in management or supervisory roles.
Nice to Haves (i.e. Preferred Qualifications):
Master's degree in Engineering Management or MBA.
PMP Certification by the Project Management Institute is preferred.
Significant experience in business process modeling.
High level presentation skills.
Ability to work successfully in a team environment and build effective working relationships inside and outside the group is critical.
Ability to establish and maintain effective business partnerships.
Demonstrated problem resolution, decision-making and analytical skills with keen attention to detail with limited supervision.
An ability to work well and productively, always projecting a positive outlook in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Demonstrate a consistent record of accomplishment in highly demanding environment and driving initiatives to completion.
Successful interaction with management of multiple technical teams is important.

Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.).
