Job DescriptionMachinist -MIT----------------------Summary:Machinist- This position will serve as a cross functional team member in our Mirror Image Tool location. They will work independently or in groups to complete task associated with supporting our internal company structure or providing a service for external business. Their main responsibility will be making specialized core pins for the Die Casting tools at our various locations. They will report directly to the Mirror Image Tool Plant Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:*Complete daily machining activities efficiently and with precision*Perform manual machining on lathes and mills, surface grinders to precise tolerances*Qualify work with micrometers, calipers, profilometers and optical comparator*Safely and effectively use general shop equipment, cut off saws, grinders, handheld tools and power tools.*Highly organized, responsible to set up working areas to operate efficiently and maintain 5s and safety protocols.*Responsible to communicate at a high level with coworkers, suppliers and vendors. Receive instruction well constructive feedback well as well as provide information to others in a positive manner.*Responsible to be a dependable, reliable team player, maintaining schedules for shop floor activity, meetings and team activity.*Work overtime as needed.Position Requirements:*High school diploma or (GED) and a minimum of two years or related experience and/or training.*Training in APQP (FMEA, Flowchart, Control plans, Blueprints, Gage R&R's, and SPC).*Proficient with various software program including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.*Ability to read part prints, work instructions and procedures.*General inspection and test equipment knowledge (Calipers, Micrometers, etc.).*General quality system knowledge (ISO or TS 16949).*Proficient in trigonometry equations to provide proper machining of core pins to precise tolerances*Knowledge of 2 axis G-Code programming*Knowledge of cutting tools for both lathes and mills.*Own or willing to purchase tools necessary to complete operations*Have a strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learnThis application is a two (2) step process:1) Filling out this application in its entirety and2) Completion of the TalentSorter assessment that will be emailed to you upon completion of the online application.You will be receiving an assessment from TalentSorter on behalf of Pace Industries.
