Responsibilities
The Global Product Information team of Technical Writers and Instructional Designers is responsible for creating and publishing documentation and training deliverables for Dematic standard solutions and subsystems.
As the Manager of the Controls Documentation team, you will lead a team of technical writers to produce world-class documentation deliverables, code samples, and other reference information to help engineers implement and support PLC-based control software for Dematic standard products, subsystems, and solutions. You will collaborate with your writing team to create and manage documentation plans and ensure that all standard documentation deliverables are released according to projected schedules. You will challenge your team to develop comprehensive content that effectively bridges the software and hardware components included in Dematic offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of controls technical writers who support Dematic products; motivate, empower, inspire
Work with your individual team members to create professional development plans and opportunities for personal growth
Support your team by understanding issues, assisting with mitigation plans, and removing obstacles
Conduct needs analysis, gap analysis, and prioritize content creation activities in coordination with the software and mechanical documentation managers.
Collaborate with instructional designers and contribute content to certification related deliverables
Create documentation deliverables for selected controls software products, as required.
Contribute to department initiatives such as tools implementation and other action plans designed to achieve department goals
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as English, Computer Science, Mathematics
Minimum 5 years experience working with controls software
Minimum 3 years leadership experience
Excellent organization and planning skills
Proficient with a variety of content authoring, graphics, and eLearning development tools
Proficiency with content authoring, publishing, and multimedia development
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset
