Position Summary:
Provides customer service on site at customer locations regarding quality concerns. Reports to ZF plant quality customer concerns and updates.
Position Responsibilities:
- Daily visits to multiple customer and support locations contacting key quality responsible individuals to assess ZF quality and delivery performance.
- Required to perform necessary troubleshooting to assist in root cause analysis.
- A high degree of autonomy to prioritize location visits based on risk and opportunities.
- Act as “first response” for any quality issues that may arise at OEM customer locations, sequencing operations, sub suppliers and warehouses.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with internal and external customers.
- Performs duties of customer representative by communicating with customers and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Work with the customer and ZF plant to ensure stock is certified to minimize supply shortages.
- Coordination of external and internal containment activities for quality concerns including monitoring 3rd party sort / rework activities.
- Addresses customer quality concerns, report back to plant and assist in closure of concerns.
- Monitor and report inventory levels at sequence operations and warehouses.
- Routine documented reporting to plant management regarding customer contact, quality concerns and resolutions, and customer feedback.
- Participate in cross-functional correction action meetings at needed.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Associates Degree plus 4-5+ years of experience.
- Must be able to use basic hand/power tools and gauges.
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed with a high degree of self- motivation.
- Basic computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Working familiarity of automotive OEM quality systems, including IATF-16949 requirements.
- Ability to respond to customer concerns on any shift.
- Strong understanding of quality problem-solving tools and methodologies
- Develop and maintain positive customer and network relationships
- Work with a positive attitude in a team environment
- Quality or Engineering Technology Degree preferred. Will consider a combination of education and quality assurance/manufacturing experience

Physical demands and work environment:
- This position is required to do extensive walking through factory environment production areas.
- Must be able to occasionally travel to customer locations out of state and internationally.
- Required to occasionally lift carry up to 35 pounds and frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Required to visually inspect blueprints, physical parts and computer files for customer specifications.
- Must be able to kneel, climb, sit, stoop and lift and reach above shoulder level on an occasion.
- Required to frequently lift, pull, push, bend, twist, stand and forward reach.
- Required to use fine and gross motor skills, firm hand gripping and repetition to handle physical parts.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
- Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal range; includes the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
- Environmental exposures may include dust, fumes, odors and chemicals.
