Description
Responsible for: mara, glace, and bleach tank processing; maintaining proper brine, SO2, fruit and syrup brix, and PH levels by adding chemicals; monitoring the fruit in fiber tanks ensuring circulation, pressure and bacteria growth are within specification and all pumps and other equipment are functioning properly; operating and maintaining sugar recovery system (APV); ensuring accurate paperwork completion.
Schedule includes weekends with two (2) days off during the week.
Essential Functions
- Mara, bleach, glace, and syrup tank processing
- Monitor and maintain brine and SO2 levels
- Monitor and maintain fruit and syrup brix levels
- Monitor and maintain PH levels
- Responsible for sugar recovery system (APV)
- Receive product tankers; collect sample to confirm quality
- Monitor fruit for bacteria growth
- Check equipment to ensure proper function
- Understand the controls for: syrup, steam, water, etc
- Accurate paperwork completion
- Maintain and operate forklift safely at all times
- Complete daily forklift tests
- Maintain housekeeping in area
- Other tasks as assigned
Competencies and Certifications Required
- Internal GMP/HACCP/SQF Training
- Excellent communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Complete work instruction/qualification sheet in allotted time frame
- Trained and knowledgeable in the use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Must pass respiratory fitness test
- OSHA Forklift License

- Occasional climbing, bending, stooping, and twisting
- Occasional lifting and/or pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds
