POSITION: ELECTRICIAN
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the installation, repair and mainteannce of electrical systems throughout the plant and on the electric crane. Requires work on medium voltage (up to 4160 VAC), AC and DC equipment. Adheres to all local, state, OSHA and environmental regulations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnoses malfunctioning electrical systems and components
- Repairs and maintains plant electrical systems and components
- Maintains and repairs the electrical systems and components on the electric crane
- Installs and replaces power supply wiring and conduit
- Connects power supply wires to equipment and components
- Tests electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
- Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
- Maintains and programs PLC's for automated machinery
- Repair DC magnets
- Opening and closing of overcurrent devices
- Conducting substation metering
- Reads schematics and blue prints
- Replaces faulty electrical components including relays and switches
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations
- Other duties as directed by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, Knowledge, Experience):
- Valid journeyman electrician's license OR 8 years experience as an electrician in a heavy industrial environment
- Electrical construction skills
- Ability to troubleshoot motor control ladder logic and line voltage motor power circuits
- Knowledge of all electrical codes (NEC, NEMA, OSHA, etc.)
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E
- Ability to read and understand schematics of all types of electrical equipment employed in heavy industry
- Understanding of heavy duty drives including AC and DC motors
- Understanding of PLC (programmable logic controllers)
- Ability to read and write
- Strong math skills

EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent
