Access & Emergency Services Clinical Specialist
Second shift (2pm – 12am) position(s) available. Evaluates requests for services and provides referrals as necessary. Completes preadmission screenings for individuals requesting acute care services to determine the most appropriate level of care. Conducts brief assessments. Provides crisis intervention and short-term counseling. Completes preadmission screenings after-hours for detoxification and substance use treatment. Assists significant others and family members with the petitioning process. Supports the team with case consultation, and workflow management. Assists with after-hours schedule changes. Acts as Emergency Services liaison with hospital staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in social work or related human services field with current Michigan social work license required.
- Prefer at least two years’ experience in the behavioral health field, plus a two-year experience providing services to children/adolescents and/or a two-year experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Certification as a child mental health professional will be required (24 children’s CEU’s per year).
- Substance use disorder certification may be beneficial.
- Must have an understanding of clinical evaluation and appropriate treatment for customers of inpatient and outpatient services.
- Prior experience completing mental health evaluations and an understanding of clinical diagnoses based on the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is required.
- Familiarity with managed care philosophy, systems and procedures also required.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate/acquire competence related to the appropriate Information Systems applications is necessary.
Salary
Salary range of $51,449 – $63,519 based on license status. $1,000 signing bonus!
