SIMS/Land base is responsible for the inputting and maintaining land base data and related GIS layered data/ Service information in both legacy SIMS and GIS SIMS system in an Enterprise GIS Database and CAD mapping systems. The position requires inputting and managing source(s) of land base and service information to support gas and electric work order activities. The Gas Asset Information department is also responsible for data maintenance and cleanup activities in the Enterprise GIS Database as well as supporting departments in their integration and use of GIS.JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIESInterpreting land base and service feature information from internal and external sources from work order designs coming from the design\field and then using CAD and ESRI ArcGIS software to input land base and service features from work orders and legal description documentation into an Enterprise GIS Database as well as maintaining and improving existing data.Interpreting land base and service feature information from design file requested material from both internal and external sources and then modify those source documents in Microstation 7 & 8 and AutoCAD from work order designs coming from the design\field and then using CAD and ESRI ArcGIS software to input land base features from work orders and legal description documentation into an Enterprise GIS Database as well as maintaining and improving existing data.Prepare, compose, or proof correspondence, reports, and presentations. This includes creation of PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, Microsoft Teams, MS Outlook, and SharePoint, or other written communications for both internal and external purposes.Engaged in all safety, training, developmental, and company support initiatives and activities.This position's office location is preferred in Saginaw Service Center or Bay City Service Center.Office location maybe be reviewed and confirmed as to whether the location meets the needs of business.This position's remote location may be reviewed and confirmed as meeting the needs of business.Required QualificationsA two-year associate degree in the requisite scientific or technical field (48 scientific or technical credit hours measured on a semester basis). The 48 scientific or technical credit hours can be obtained through colleges, technical institutes, licensed apprenticeship programs, trade schools, military programs, etc. Further, some employees in this job family may be required to possess local, state or deferral licenses and/or certifications in order to carry out their assigned job duties.The following skills will set you apart from others:•2+ years' experience updating/maintaining a GIS system•Experience querying a GIS system•SharePoint experience•Understanding/background in accessing national, state, and local GIS resources•Understanding/background experience in legal property and ROW descriptions•Proficiency in using GIS and/or CAD software.•Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and associated documentation.•Experience with windows XP or later, and MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.•Experience in Utility gas and/or electric service features and data information interpretation and record maintenance•SAP experienceThis position will be filled at the level commensurate with the selected candidate's skills, knowledge, experience, and education.
