The primary function of the Co-Op student will be to provide development and support of all applications and procedures related to PCA operations. This position is part of the Information Technology Systems department, Computer Programming Group. This person will interface with internal and external end-users to support and maintain end-user computing needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, deploy, utilize, and troubleshoot PCA applications.
- Providing in person and remote support of other team members, support engineers, and end users.
- Providing user training as needed for PCA applications
- Developing and maintaining application documentation and workflows.
- Ensuring all of their activities follow PCA's established audit policies.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
- Sophomore working on BS Degree in Computer Programming at Michigan Tech University and/or Ferris State University
- Work Experience: In related ITS areas preferred
- Applicant should have familiarity with software/application development
- Applicant should have familiarity with communicating, investigating and resolving user requests
- A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required.
- Ability to work overtime, as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Abilities/Skills:
- Strong basic keyboarding and editing skills with an understanding in Windows Operating Systems.
- Solid working knowledge of application development and object-oriented analysis and design experience.
- Knowledge of .net Framework environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Relational Database models with some experience in any relational database (RDBMS).
- Demonstrated understanding of Windows programming techniques, messaging and XML.
- Ability to integrate or use external/third party tools in development and adapt to new technology.
- Strong organizational skills to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
- Ability to adapt to and work effectively and independently in a fast paced, multitasking environment.
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks for efficiency and completeness.
- Must be an effective communicator, verbal and written.
Housing/Relocation Information for Co-Op Term:
- A housing stipend may be offered up to $500 grossed-up per month, if necessary.
- PCA will reimburse the student for the move to their new housing upon starting the co-op.
