Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy and headquartered in Jackson, Michigan, provides natural gas and electricity to nearly 6.8 million of Michigan's 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe role of the cyber security analyst demands technical skill, superior customer service and the ability to think, communicate and write at various levels, including, but not limited to, Executive Leadership.•As a member of the Security Project Process Team, this role will work with project managers and members of their project team to ensure security requirements are designed into projects.•Serves as the primary information security representative resource for IT and non-IT Business Partners.•Ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner, represents projects from Security perspective at various meetings & review boards.•Researches and advocates new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners and vendors.•Facilitates cyber security build work while working closely with the cyber security & engineering design team.•Communicates security risks to appropriate staff within information security.•Ensures projects are meeting the information security requirements by completing audits on projects•Works closely with the cyber security & engineering team on improving Cyber Security standards and processes.•Must be able to work independently and within a team.•Must be able to collaborate at multiple levels of reporting including individual contributors, supervisors, managers, and directors.•Must be able to manage multiple projects and efforts concurrently.Requirements:•Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or other related field. Less than a bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by other technical training / relevant certifications and extensive experience (internal/external) in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.•3+ years of applied IT/IS working experience. Demonstrated Experience with the following Technology•Firewalls•Proxy's•Network Architecture Design•Account Management•Cloud Technology AWS/Azure•Microsoft VisioThe following skills and experience will set you apart from others:•Masters or other advanced degree, ideally in an IT or Business area•Energy industry background that includes a working knowledge of effectively mapping technology to business challenges•CISSP, GSEC, CISA, CISM, Security+/Network+, or related SANS certifications are highly preferred•Experience with AWS/Azure security frameworks.•General familiarity with industry specific security standards such as CIS 20, HIPAA, NERC/CIP, NIST 800 series•Proven oral, written, and presentation skills with various audiences from technical, business customer, and management, including the ability to drive technical change and constructively influence peers and leadership•Self-motivated, results oriented, with demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilitiesEssential FunctionsThe Project Process Analyst role is a blend of technical skills and business acumen. This role will need to have a strong grasp of IT and Security fundamentals as well as have the ability to communicate those technical details across a broad audience with varying technical capabilities including both IT and non-IT.The analyst will work closely with multiple levels of management including individual contributors to define and analyze business and technical problems, identify process improvement opportunities and work through them to completion. Be able to identify and analyze complex, ambiguous and sometimes conflicting business and technical challenges. Explain technology and process options and assist IT and Non-IT business partners in analysis to drive decision making.The analyst will be responsible for educating their business partners on Security process, requirements, and standards. Be able to translate technical requirements into process guidance. Recommend and support actions to elevate the importance of security throughout all levels of the company; Capable of managing escalations and facilitate resolution.Engage in ongoing communications with peers in the IT, Non-IT, and Security groups to ensure enterprise wide understanding of security goals, process, and standards to solicit feedback and to foster co-operation.Able to assist business partners in architecting both technical and non-technical solutions including interpreting the impact of functional requirements on the overall Security framework and be able to clearly communicate that impact.Facilitate IT and Non-IT efforts through Security processes to ensure efforts align with CE Security standards and requirements. This may include reviewing and providing guidance on scope / project charters, network diagrams, data flow diagrams, and assisting the team with gaps or exceptions in the process or requirements.Hours and TravelMeet travel requirements of the position.
