Position Summary
Michigan State University Department of Family Medicine seeks applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Health Programs Faculty Appointment System. This is a unique position that allows you to combine clinical practice, 60% of your scheduled time, with research and/or instruction.
The healthcare system is undergoing dramatic changes. There is an increasing focus on value-based healthcare, where the impact on patients’ well-being and quality of life is becoming increasingly important. We are also shifting, to the Quadruple Aim, which also considers the well-being of the provider along with improvements in patient care and costs. The Department of Family Medicine (DFM), College of Human Medicine (CHM), Michigan State University (MSU), is a leader in the research and clinical translation of the Quadruple Aim, telemedicine, and care for geriatric and rural populations. The DFM not only provides primary care, but are part of a team of researchers and practitioners who strive to improve healthcare by focusing on systems, workforce, and patient determinants of top quality care. If you want to develop skills in teaching and research, DFM and CHM offer strong mentoring programs. We offer the opportunity to be part of multidisciplinary teams that come together to tackle complex medical and population health challenges.
The ideal candidate is Board Certified in Family Medicine or will just have completed an accredited residency in Family Medicine. Additional degrees or experience in areas such as occupational and environmental medicine, public health, health systems research, psychology, behavioral health, or business administration are welcome, but not required. The candidate should have an interest in research and/or working with quality improvement processes.
This is a unique position that allows you to combine clinical practice with research and/or instruction, with protected time for administration and scholarly activities. Your clinical practice will be with HealthTeam on the main campus of MSU in East Lansing. Your office will be with DFM on the main campus.

Minimum Requirements
The ideal person should be Board Certified in Family Medicine, or just have completed an accredited residency in Family Medicine. The candidate should have an interest in research and/or working with quality improvement process.
Desired Qualifications
Additional degrees in areas such as occupational and environmental medicine, public health, health systems studies, psychology, behavioral health, or business administration are welcome, but not a requirement.
