About Us
Our organization started in 1951 when the principal employer of Plymouth, Daisy Air Rifle Company, formed the Daisy Employees Federal Credit Union. We have grown to locations in Plymouth, Canton, Novi, Northville, Livonia, Westland, Wixom, Gaylord, Atlanta, Hillman, and Lewiston, Michigan.
Compensation starts at $19 per hour.
A Day in the Life:
Fhe Mortgage Specialist is responsible for the origination of residential first and second mortgages via telephone inquiries, walk-ins, and referrals from branches, employees, realtors, and builders. This position supports the Manager/Mortgage Sales with daily sales functions. This individual is a facilitator with members; ensures excellent customer service; and performs a variety of tasks to support Mortgage Sales, including but not limited to: data entry and taking applications, phone calls, marketing, and member communications.

- Work closely with branches and other team members. Actively educate opportunities to identify and refer potential mortgage business.
- Seek out opportunities to gain referral contacts from outside sources such as realtors, builders, etc.
- Get mortgage loan requests through the decision process before handing it off to loan processing.
- Ensure that members receive a high level of customer service during their loan process.
- Take mortgage applications by phone, in person, or online as acceptable to members.
- Follow compliance-related guidelines throughout the mortgage loan process.
- Cross-sell other credit union membership benefits to members, including home equity loans.
- Assist Mortgage Services with inputting applications, pulling credit, and preparing files for underwriting/processing.
- Enter data for tracking spreadsheets.
- Open new savings accounts.
- Order supplies for Mortgage Services.
- Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- Ability to successfully complete the MLO background check process to obtain NMLS.
Qualifications Preferred:
- 2 years of mortgage processing or loan originations experience.
- Understanding of company mortgage loan systems.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs.

Working Conditions:
In-office working conditions are normal. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery. Receives detailed instructions and security procedures on an annual basis to minimize risk. Lighting, temperature, audio, and work space are all sufficient. Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate.
