About Us
Our organization started in 1951 when the principal employer of Plymouth, Daisy Air Rifle Company, formed the Daisy Employees Federal Credit Union. We have grown to locations in Plymouth, Canton, Novi, Northville, Livonia, Westland, Wixom, Gaylord, Atlanta, Hillman, and Lewiston, Michigan.
A Day in the Life:
The Senior Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for the origination of residential first and second mortgages via telephone inquiries, walk-ins, and referrals from branches, team members, realtors, and builders.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The minimum requirement for any team member of our company is to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, with a commitment to a workplace of dignity and respect, in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity standards and regulations. We also require, as a minimum standard, that all team members have the ability to accept direction and constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.
- Work closely with branches and team members. This includes educating them on opportunities to identify and refer potential mortgage business.
- Seek out opportunities to gain referral contacts from outside sources, such as realtors, builders, etc.
- Get mortgage loan requests through the decision process before handing them off to loan processing.
- Ensure that the members receive a high level of customer service during their loan process.
- Take mortgage applications by phone, in person, and online.
- Follow compliance-related guidelines throughout the mortgage loan process.
- Cross-sell other credit union membership benefits to members, including home equity loans.
- Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of mortgage experience.
- Ability to successfully complete the MLO background check process to obtain NMLS.
Qualifications Preferred:
- 2 years of mortgage experience.

Working Conditions:
Work hours include the possibility for long work days. In-office working conditions are normal. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery. Receives detailed instructions and security procedures on an annual basis to minimize risk. Lighting, temperature, audio, and work space are all sufficient. Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate.
