Job Summary
The CRA Data Analyst supports the CRA Group to perform responsibilities necessary to assure that the bank is in compliance with the policies, procedures and practices mandated by the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).In this role, the CRA Data Analyst will be responsible for acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases, interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality, this capacity, the CRA Analyst position will also assist in providing support across internal lines of business to ensure compliance, audit and CRA risk assessment requirements are met. The CRA Data Analyst position will support the CRA group in increasing operational efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance and results.
Job Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Requires interpreting data, and analyzing results that assist management in making business decisions to help meet CRA regulation obligations. Responsible for the filtering and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems, etc. Generate customized reports for various meetings and line of business requests.
* Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems. Collects, assess and logs data from internal lines of business to track CRA community development loans, investments, and service activity. Prepares quality performance metric reports, including, (HMDA, and the small business loan application register) reporting for CRA management and team.
* Analyze business data to improve data integrity, build meaningful reports, and reconcile information across multiple systems. Assist with internal audits, regulatory exams and compliance, including ensuring CRA policies and procedure documents are kept up to date. Participate in high priority business projects involving transaction support, operations, and technology. Ensures all CRA systems updates are made on a timely basis.
* Support team members by participating in and providing support for community engagement projects. Participate in planning and execution of community impact investing projects Make recommendations for process and tracking improvements..
* Stay current on various databases' capabilities and enhancements as it applies to CRA eligibility review and verification. Works on projects or additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
* Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree Required
* 5 years of data management and reporting required
* Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
* Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
* Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, or Javascript)
* Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
* Proficient and highly skilled in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) and independently create presentations, decks, and other materials, and the ability to learn new programs/software as necessary are required.
* Demonstrated ability to use discretion and judgment in making sound and well-reasoned decisions and recommendations as it relates to the Bank's CRA performance.
* Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and also independently as necessary.
* Demonstrated ability to follow company policies, guidelines and procedures.
* TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (5% of time in the community)
