JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose:
A hands-on lab based position that utilizes equipment, software and hardware to setup and run tests that evaluate and/or validate seating products for use. This position ensures that these tests are conducted safely, efficiently, correctly, and in accordance to published and/or provided specifications and requirements.
Noise and Vibration specific Duties:
- Conduct the mechanical and instrumentation setup and teardown for sled tests.
- Perform sled tests per customer and/or Federal test specifications.
- Usage of sled related software
- Usage of Data acquisition system to collect test data.
- Responsible for test instrumentation set-up, calibration, and usage. Instrumentation may include accelerometers, strain gages, load cells, string potentiometers and digital cameras.
- Responsible for running of Seattle Safety and Hyge sled systems
General Duties:
- Conduct post-test data processing and interpretation of results.
- Completion of any necessary testing documentation which may include calibration sheets, data sheets, test reports, video files, still photos.
- Maintains safe, secure, and clean work place by following 5S standards.
- Conduct some equipment maintenance and/or repair as applicable.
- Maintain calibration records for lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Use Global Lab Information System (gLIMs) for test data and information. Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations.
- Attend department meetings as required.
- Interface with Adient validation engineers and customers as required.
- Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required.
- Handle material movement as required (i.e. fixtures, pallets, and test samples).
Skills/Qualifications:
- Associates Degree
- 8+ years of experience
- Sled Test experience
- Test lab experience (equipment, methods, instruments)
