JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
- The position is considered the direct supervisor to a technical support team for the plant's welding operations (weld technicians/engineers) that provide support to multiple welding technologies. The position reports directly to the Engineering Manager
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The position supervises and engages in activities of the technical support team (weld techs/engineers) to support laser welding, GMAW and projection welding
- Process monitoring and data recording
- Fixture adjustments required to meet product dimensional targets
- Weld program changes as required to maintain acceptable level of weld performance
- Interact with other engineering support and maintenance to react to unscheduled equipment issues and perform necessary diagnostics and repairs
- Reaction to discovery from C.C.T. lab results and quality department audits process capability deviations
- Support of non-automated repair processes
- Project/ Development work and delegation to the technical support team as needed

Education / Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering
- 7-10 years of minimum experience
Accountabilities
- This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager
Qualifications
- Experience in high volume automotive manufacturing
- Prior supervisory experience with technical resources
- Basic understanding of GD and T is preferred and CAD
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must be able to meet the requirements of being able to work in the United States (INS Form I-9)
