JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and understand all customer standardized test method documents.
- Perform physical property testing within corporate polyurethane quality lab according to the customer standardized documents.
- Maintain, control, and ensure accuracy of test data.
- Monitor and ensure testing is performed within Temperature and Humidity control.
- Update testing matrix daily to note completed testing.
- Maintain 5S and housekeeping in the lab area daily.
- Maintain sample and test fixture inventories.
- Follow all lab safety practices.
- Participate in ISO 16949 & A2LA (ISO 17025) system improvement activities, including but not limited to audits and Proficiency Testing.
- Participate in Gage R & R studies on lab equipment.
- Participate in equipment verification.
- Participate in Quality Planning meetings when required.
- Be a self - starter; to complete all work orders in a timely manner.
- Abide by all EH&S requirements.
- Comply with company and departmental rules, policies and practices.
- Communicate with team members and supervision on all issues, concerns, updates, etc.
- Perform all roles & responsibilities as defined by the BOS policies & procedures.
- Perform other duties deemed necessary by the Quality Engineer/Manager or UTC Manager
- Able to lift 25 pounds.

Education Required & Preferred:
A High School diploma or equivalent with minimum 2 years of experience is required.
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Science, Math, or Chemistry is preferred.
Experience Required & Preferred:
Experience with common measuring instruments such as micrometer, caliper, indicator, and force gage are preferred.
Language Skills:
Possess ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, technical testing specifications, and procedure manuals. Candidate needs to possess ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability:
Possess ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Successful application of problem solving and critical thinking is essential.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Must possess ability to create visual aids for communication purposes. Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment. Possess the ability to read part drawings. Some experience with statistical process control and computers is necessary.
