Job Description:
Project Engineer, responsible for construction/remediation projects ranging in budget from $300,000 to $10,000,000. Works with multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems related to design and constructability for various project types. Â Projects predominantly involve heavy civil construction, including utility piping with some minor vertical construction. Â Project diversity ranges from normal heavy civil construction, to environmental remediation and deactivation/demolition projects. Â Work load expectations include 50% split between field engineering and office work.
Primary responsibilities include:Â
•   proposal and estimating support;Â
•   preparation of project plans, extensions of design and contract submittals;
•   development of technical scope for purchase orders and subcontracts
•   field oversight and quality control (including working knowledge of interpretating drawing/specification requirements for implementation of quality control on Federal Projects);Â
•   Preparation of completion reports and other project closeout documents. Â
•   Depending on job performance, successful candidates may qualify for additional management responsibility.
Other responsibilities include:
•   Interfaces with clients to maintain a positive business relationship.
•   Prepares, negotiates, and manages routine projects and monitors the work of contractors and/or consultants.
•   Performs technical review of plans.
•   May have staff management responsibility for junior-level professional employees, including performance evaluations, training, and other supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications include:
•   Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
•   3 to 10 years of experience in construction and/or remediation projects.
•   HazWOPER Training preferred.
•   USACE QC Training preferred.
•   Registration as a Professional Engineer by a state licensing board following NCEES Model Law is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
•   Ability to travel is desired.
•   Organization, written communication, and oral communication skills.
•   Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.Â
•   Must be able to work constructively in diverse teams including engineers, technicians, and construction personnel.
•   CTI is a Drug-Free Workplace - Must pass pre-hire drug screen.
•   Must possess valid driver's license.
•   Must be able to physically navigate construction sites.
•   Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
