Total Rewards Benefits Manager The Total Rewards Benefits Manager will lead the team responsible for primarily U.S. based health and welfare benefit programs within the Firm. This role will develop, recommend and install approved, new or modified benefits programs that are aligned with the Firm’s benefits strategy. This role will also supervise administration of such programs. The Total Rewards Benefits Manager is located in Southfield, Michigan reporting to the Head of Total Rewards. Paid relocation is not available.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate and implement US benefit programs including: group medical, dental, vision, prescription, life, disability, leave of absence and wellness among others.
- Act as an internal consultant and expert for benefits best practices and market competitiveness
- Analyzes benchmark surveys, market, economic and plan claims data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Recommends new or modifications to benefit offerings, vendors or plan design to maintain or improve competitive position and/or legal compliance.
- Works with finance to ensure enhancements are budgeted and properly accounted for
- Ensure policies and procedures follow ACA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA and other regulations that impact benefits
- Responds to complex benefits questions and corresponds with vendors to resolve confidential employee claims issues
- Manages annual Open Enrollment including benefits system set up, communication strategy and execution of benefit elections with downstream vendors.
- Directs work and participates in performance feedback for more junior team members
- Assist team members with other activities as needed based on volume (invoice validation and processing, presenting at New Hire Orientation, process enrollments for group health plans, maintain employee benefit files, as needed)
- Additional responsibilities as identified.
Qualifications/Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree required; Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field of study preferred; Master’s degree in HR or MBA and certification in HR or Benefits strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years HR experience within the benefits arena; experience with a professional service firm strongly preferred; multi-national experience strongly preferred
- 3-5 years work experience in a manager level position
- Knowledge of HR practices, procedures, required documentation and compliance requirements required.
- Experience with HR systems, preferably experience with ADP - Workforce Now.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrating a high level of confidentiality and customer focus
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels (and spouses) in handling confidential information, being mindful to sensitive and personal situations
- Excellent analytical skills; proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; must be able to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to work in a team-focused, collaborative environment.
- Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency in a complex and changing working environment.
