DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The new Tenneco has formed from the combination of Tenneco Clean Air and Federal-Mogul Powertrain, bringing together more than a century of innovation to serve light vehicle, commercial truck, off-highway and large engine OE customers worldwide. By building more efficient, more powerful and more sophisticated powertrain systems, Tenneco's engineered solutions improve fuel economy and power output, and reduce criteria pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions for gasoline, diesel and electrified powertrains.
We are looking for a Launch Manager for our Greenville, Michigan plant to contribute to our Powertrain - Bearings business unit. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all launch related activities and ensuring that those steps are delivered to expectations (timing, safety, quality, and cost). Our top candidate will have at least five years of technical experience with at least two years of leadership experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Coordinates deliverables with all plant functions and leads the manufacturing readiness timing and action plan.
- Lead the program launch team, providing direction for local activities and acting as the liaison for those activities and the main project. Occasionally takes lead role in sub-project teams within their programs.
- Develops plans and controls for new business launches, with specific consideration of customer requirements and other internal business unit priorities (e.g. safety, quality, volume, timelines, cost).
- Develops plans and controls for Engineering Change projects, applying the same project evaluation and launch assessment expectations to those projects.
- Provides the "voice of the customer" towards the internal organization.
- Acts as the main contact person for all launch related issues, internally as well as externally from project start to SOP.
- Provides regular updates to Program Management Office regarding the status of each program and any systemic problems that may exist therein.
- Escalates problems within the program management and/or plant organization as appropriate.
- Manages remaining aspects of projects including customer satisfaction, launch risk and profitability through SOP.
- Assist in the quotation of new products/activities with existing or new customers by monitoring and controlling the key deliverables.
- Organizes and leads the following meetings within the plant, unless done as part of overall customer program: Project kick-off meetings, project team meetings, launch meetings, supply approval meetings, and business review meetings with the customer, as appropriate.
- Responsible for site's new product launches.
REQUIREMENTS:QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, business or related field
- Five years technical engineering experience.
- Two years of leadership experience and managing projects.
- Automotive industry experience highly preferred.
