Summary of Position: | This is a part-time (an average of 25 hours per week) position, which may include occasional evening and weekend hours. This position provides services including: program advising and admission, student recruitment, liaison with regional community colleges, other educational institutions, businesses, and agencies, along with assisting with office operation coverage when needed. Primary program advising for online Business programs, but may cover advising for other programs. | |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | Work experience with undergraduate students in advising or student services. Academic or work experience in a business related field. | |
Duties/Responsibilities: | Serves as the academic advisor primarily to Online degree completion students in Business programs and may be assigned other programs as needed by the division. • Includes setting regular advising dates and times including daytime and some evenings hours. Anticipated 25 hours a week. • Audits, monitors, and evaluates individual student academic progress. • Meets with current students in-person and online; reviewing student electronic degree audits, reviewing university policies and procedures and assisting with course registration process. • Advises students on equivalent community college courses and approve those courses through a consortium process. • Meets with prospective students; completing unofficial audits and reviewing transfer policies and admissions procedures. • Participates in on and off campus recruiting events promoting the Ferris Statewide & Online programs. • Utilize online systems including but not limited to; MyDegree, Zoom, Email, SharePoint • Reports to the Director for the Grand Rapids Region as primary supervisor. • Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information. • Performs all duties in compliance with applicable University policies and procedures and state and federal requirements. | |
