This full time, 12 month position will require working hours when youth are not typically in school. Work hours will flex around weekly activities with the expectation that regular hours will be late afternoon, evenings, and weekends to coincide with youth center open hours. This position is responsible for the administration and coordination of recreation, social, prevention and afterschool learning programs. These include the Youth Center and all activities originating from the Center, the 21st Century Community Learning Center Programs based at the youth center and all other grant and tribally funded youth programs that operate within the center.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor Degree in a related field with current valid MI. Teaching certification. Possess and maintain a current valid MI. driver’s license meeting all insurance carrier requirements(and ability to obtain chauffer’s license); experience in an educational setting supervising youth, working with children (ages 7-19 years) and coordinating activities; experience with grants and grant reporting; documented experience in a supervisory role for 1-3 years; program planning and implementation, oral and written communication skills, expertise in word processing and report preparation, establishing and maintaining both paper and electronic files; knowledge of current youth issues and trends, developmental psychology, prevention programming, computer programs for word processing and document preparation; program building and implementation; Native American culture.
WAGE: Exempt ($41,174.17-$66,030.43) or dependent upon qualifications.
