Job Summary:
Ensure that customer specifications and project scope are conveyed in an easy to understand format for operations which ensures product meets or exceeds customer's technical and quality expectations.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Collecting, storing and organizing specifications for all SKUs packaged at Hearthside Food Solutions.
Verify new components as we receive them to ensure part numbers match the specifications from customers.
Take photographs of components, associated pallet tags and other Packaging aids for use in the Blue Book for visual reference.
Electronically construct a Blue Book for each SKU using specifications and photographs provided by the customer or internally gathered.
Retrieve signed out Blue Books from Production office after they are finished being used on the production lines. Verify there are no missing pages and books are intact. Sign Blue Books back into designated storage area.
Perform revision updates to Blue Books when specifications or internal company protocols change.
Maintain and update an electronic Master List of Active, Work in Process and Archived Blue Books.
Filling out all CoC's and CoA's that are required on finished product.
Record and track CoC's and CoA's received for bulk products and materials and perform releases in SAP system based on CoA / CoC information.
Inspect and send out all customer samples.
Verify accuracy of sample analysis request forms and samples and send to outside lab daily as required.
Assisting with traceability exercises (mock recalls), and be able to perform a mock recall unassisted if necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Sustain plants 5-S efforts.
Other tasks as required and assigned by Quality management.
Keep all information pertaining to our operations (products, customers, production details, etc.) confidential.
Function as backup to the Quality Document Specialist and Environmental Technician (may be required to work 3rd shift or extended hours periodically).
Required Competencies & Knowledge:
Education Requirements:
Required - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Experience Requirements:
Required - 2 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Technician or other Technical department.
Preferred - 5 years of experience in Quality or other technical department.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:
Must have excellent typing skills.
Must have demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Must have demonstrated proficiency with general computer file operations, scanning, email, etc.
Must be able to maintain good interpersonal communications with co-workers, employees from other departments, and superiors.
Must be able to use specifications and project scope to evaluate what information is relevant for each Blue Book application.
Physical Requirements:
Body Positions - Sitting, Standing, Kneeling, Crouching
Body Movements - Walking, Bending arms, wrists, and fingers; twisting/turning of head, shoulders, and torso.
Must have ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and stand or sit for lengthy durations.
Mental Requirements:
Mathematics - Must be able to perform simple mathematic calculations and be able to work with fractions / ratios and percentages.
Language - Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing and interface with customers, vendors and employees. Must be able to read and comprehend English. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend Spanish is a plus.
Must be able to perform moderately advanced tasks on a computer using Windows, Microsoft Office and other software packages as needed.
