As an HR Assistant, you'll work within our Divisional HR team to support our employees throughout their work life cycle, maintaining the accuracy of data in various HR systems and coordinating communications and activities that enhance the employee experience. and ensure that people feel valued and recognized. As an HR Assistant, you'll support the individual employees that make up Gordon Food Service! Working within the HR team, you'll provide administrative support to employee onboarding, benefits and wellness administration, coordination of company events, and other activities and communications that help our workforce both on the job and when they go home! Every day is different, but you can expect these activities among your responsibilities: * Enter data into HR systems and produce reports -- we collect and manage a lot of information from the first interview through retirement! * Coordinating details, logistics, and communication for various events related to job fairs, training, wellness, orientation, open enrollment and other activities. * Support new hire paperwork and pre-employment testing and screening. * Process invoices related to HR activity. * Assist with diversity and inclusion initiatives. * Support the team with meeting scheduling, presentation preparation, and other communications. Desired Qualifications: * High school equivalent required; Associates degree preferred * 1-2 years of previous administrative experience * Knowledge of human resources regulations and guidelines preferred, ideally learned through a work setting * Proficiency with office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations); MS Office, Google tools, or equivalent * Comfort level with a fast pace, simultaneous tasks, and changing priorities * Ability to work with confidential information Find out more about our values, culture, and benefits at gfs.com/careers.
