General Mills is seeking a Logistics Planner at our Reed City, MI location. This position will be accountable for learning all roles within Logistics: Raw Material Planning/Finite Scheduling/Outbound Planning. Responsible for ensuring planning the plants supply of finished and semi-finished product into the General Mills distribution network based on agreed supply chain strategy. Must build relationships across multiple functions at various levels of the organization and be able to communicate effectively regarding risk and mitigation plans. Key relationships include: Plant Operations, Quality, Minneapolis Brand and Supply Planning, Inbound Logistics, Sourcing and Transportation. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Organize multiple information streams to develop plant manufacturing schedule * Create and maintain production schedule * Identify production variances and work quickly to resolve * Have strong understanding of plant manufacturing floor capabilities * Communicate across multiple functions & levels regarding business opportunities & risk * Use SAP (ERP) technology to plan material inbounds * Use SAP technology (PPDS) to manage plant manufacturing schedule * Adhere to planning and scheduling process to drive cost goals at plants and across the Supply Chain * Efficiently manage trailer pool and coordinate outbound shipments * Influence cross functional partners through root cause analysis for inventory control, vendor performance indicators, and transportation opportunities * Lead plant projects that support supply chain HMM and cost avoidance goals * Deliver outstanding daily results through process rigor, attention to detail, sense of urgency and time management. * Participate in weekly calls with business functions to identify scheduling opportunities * Manage plant events that require scheduling/raw material changes with minimal cost implications * Communicate and build relationship with vendors for material procurement * Available for additional hours as needed and able to flex work schedule to support 24/7 business operation * Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or Accounting * At least 1 year of relevant experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in SAP (APO SNP/ PPDS, and/or MRP/ERP) or similar planning systems/methodologies #cb.
