The International Manufacturing Process Engineer will develop processes for body, trim, chassis, and final line operations from vehicle design concept through in plant vehicle launch. This position will be responsible for manufacturing process design creation, PFMEA’s development and process documentation. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of Teamcenter (Vis Pro, Vis Mock up and Vis Jack), and Automated Manufacturing Planning Systems (AMPS). The Engineer will write detailed process instructions for body, trim, chassis, and final line shop production operators including all process steps and create graphics using CAD systems in AMPS. The Process Engineer will interface with product engineering to ensure product design feasibility for manufacturing and develop and lead PFMEAs with cross functional teams, report out findings and implement improvements. The Process Engineer understands vehicle GD&T and works with product engineering counterparts to ensure that locating schemes are production feasible and ergonomic. The Engineer will manage all aspects of tooling design, build and implementation including budget and time lines using Microsoft Project. Process Engineer manages root cause analysis utilizing tools such as 5W +1H, Fishbone diagrams, 5 why’s, PFMEAs, Pareto charts, and Histograms. The person in this position provides direction to a team of process engineers as well as interfaces with Mexico plants and FCA Technology Center product engineering staff.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
- 5+ years’ experience in General Assembly process
- 1+ years’ experience in Body process and tooling manufacturing engineering
- Ability to lead PFMEA and ability to perform PFMEA development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint and/or Google Suite
- Experience with Teamcenter Vis Pro, Vis Mockup & Vis Jack, and Automated Manufacturing Planning System (AMPS) software
- Ability to manage a project from beginning to end meeting project budget and timing targets
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while working in a fast-paced challenging environment
- Excellent English/Spanish bilingual communication skills with the ability to write processes in both languages and deal with a variety of people at all levels within the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other technical field
- 5+ years’ automotive engineering experience
- Knowledge of Factory CAD, Process Simulate, Part Flow simulation, and Human Simulation w/Teamcenter
- Knowledge of Engineering Build of Material (EBOM), STV’s, Product Series Cards, Vehicle Program Bulletins, Process & Design Tool experience, Virtual Product Management VPM, and CN’s Product Change Notes
- Understanding of vehicle GD&T
