The Medical Receptionist & Collections Clerk provides appropriate, courteous and professional reception of patients and visitors both coming into and calling the Medical Center. Obtains pertinent patient information, verifies insurance coverage, schedules appointments and provides support with general office work. Collects patient responsibility fees and sets up payment plans as necessary. Responsible for reconciling and depositing collections on a daily basis.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's Degree in Medical Office Professional (or similar field) required. Pertinent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- One (1) year previous experience in medical office or clinic setting.
- Typing, filing, computer, telephone etiquette and answering skills. Critical thinking skills essential. Ability to respond appropriately and consistently to Managerial directives. Bilingual preferred.
