Job Description/Responsibilities
The Electric Field Leader:
•Will typically supervise 4-15 Electric Distribution, Transmission or Metering Company employees.
•Work may also involve managing and monitoring work performed by non-company employees.
•Work involves a mixture of standard to advanced supervisory and operating responsibilities.
•In addition to responsibilities for lower rated positions, an Electric Field Leader is responsible for managing successful headquarter business operations in a cost-effective fashion while maintaining a safe work environment and balancing the needs of the customer and company.
•Develops direct reports in both business knowledge and technical skills; plans and prudently manages the scope, schedule and cost of construction projects; applies a thorough understanding of policy coupled with leadership skills to resolve process and employee issues; has a thorough understanding of the Working Agreement and is adept at dealing with local union leadership.
•Initiates and leads change to improve results.
•Professionals in this role have the ability to perform effectively and efficiently in routine and non-routine/emergency situations with minimal guidance.
•Responsibilities include supervision of electric distribution employees, on-call assignments, management of project work including job site reporting, and working extended hours during restoration activities.
•Ideally will be safety focused and experienced in construction methods with the ability to accurately estimate hours required to complete complex projects.
•Will also be proficient in the storm process and use of supporting computer systems and programs (e.g., Arcos, OMAR/Service Suite, OMS, and Outlook) required to complete their day-to-day work.
•Requires demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices and procedures; in-depth knowledge of electric distribution operations and construction; demonstrated leadership capabilities including the capacity to lead change efforts in a competitive business environment; and demonstrated capacity to direct both company and non-company resources in both routine and non-routine or emergency operations.

Requirements/Qualifications
•A high school diploma OR GED.
•3 or more years technical knowledge in Electric Transmission, Distribution, and Metering or Generation operations and equipment gained either through a technical field of study and/or through related work experience.
•Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices and procedures.
•Knowledge of leadership practices, including leadership of change efforts in a competitive business environment.
•Some understanding of work methods, work processes and related technology in the field of Electric Transmission, Distribution, and Metering or Generation Operations.
•Some understanding of storm operations.
•Some understanding of quality systems.
•Some understanding of management of the scope, schedule and cost of construction projects.
•Some understanding of the Working Agreement.
•Working outside of normal work hours and responding to customer emergencies during anytime of the day, including evenings and weekends.
The following may set you apart:
•A Bachelor's degree in a related field or electric lines on-the-job training.
•Three years of related field utility experience.
•Supervisory and/or Leadership experience.
Candidates without previous field leader experience will be considered as the position will be filled with the most qualified applicant at the appropriate level depending on experience.
Essential Functions
•Responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, evaluation and supervision of employees assigned to the operation, maintenance and construction of electric distribution systems, customer electric services, electric generation plant facilities, buildings and grounds or utility support area.
•Recommends proposed changes and enhancements to systems and facilities operation; responds to complaints and requests for information; prepares and maintains reports of completed job orders and the status of jobs in progress.
•Inspects job sites to check on work progress, assure satisfactory completion and plans new assignments; prepares requisitions for operations and maintenance supplies, equipment and materials and supervises special projects as required.
•Conducts regular safety meetings, participates as a member of a safety committee; investigates and completes necessary incident reports and accident reports; maintains records, prepares and submits required reports for appropriate agencies.
•Implements preventative maintenance programs.
•Individuals should exemplify safe work practices and follow the Company's compliance standards.
•Regular attendance is expected.
Hours and Travel
•This position requires the individual to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a majority of the time spent in the office or specific field locations.
