We have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator to join our team of talented professionals.
Position Summary:
The Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) coordinator will be responsible for the administrative and clinical functioning of TFCO Services. This shall include all the functions necessary for the delivery of services to the institutions and client populations of the community served by this array of programs. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although evenings and weekends may also be required based on program needs. Supervisor will also provide on-call after hours crisis intervention when necessary.
To qualify for this position, you will need the following:
- The Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) coordinator must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling and be licensed by the State of Michigan as an LMSW, LLP, or LPC.
- Must have at least three years experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Must meet Michigan Department of Health and Human Services requirements for a Child Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire.
- Candidates must have exemplary clinical skills, including detailed knowledge of the DSM.
- Must have the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems.
- The ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
- A nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families.
- Must also demonstrate excellent organizational and leadership skills and strong computer skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a favorable driving record.
Specific Responsibilities of this role:
- Provide clinical supervision to staff in TFCO services.
- Review and organize all treatment records and reports pertaining to the therapy, treatment and the rendering of services to children.
- Organize and lead staff meetings as well as attend administrative meetings as required.
- Develop therapeutic relationship with children, therapeutic foster families and biological families.
- Assess need for routine and emergency mental health services and monitor delivery.
- Make daily decisions regarding treatment needs for the children and families throughout their involvement with the TFCO model.
- Arrange family visits with birthparents/guardians.
- Assess and make decisions regarding placement and transitions back into the community.
- Therapeutic Parent advocate to facilitate therapeutic parent meetings weekly and keep their perspective front and center throughout treatment.
- Provide and/or coordinate emergency assessments to clients in crisis when necessary.
- Provide on call after hours crisis intervention when necessary.
- Managing staff and department within span of control, including but not limited to: making recommendations with particular weight as to the interviewing, selecting, hiring, and termination of staff; setting and adjusting hours of work; on-boarding and training staff; directing work and assignments; appraising and evaluation of staff work performance; handling of staff complaints and grievances; and disciplining employees.
- Monitor and report program outcomes, fidelity and effectiveness.
- Assume responsibility for reports required by the agency or funding sources.
- Act as a community liaison to hospitals, schools and other community agencies in an effort to assist clients.
- Participate in assessment of community needs and consult with community organizations as needed.
- Participate in agency committees as needed or assigned.
- Complete 25 hours of training specific to children and/or adolescents on an annual basis, as well as additional required annual trainings.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
