At FCA, we are looking for a creative, passionate and energetic technical support professional to assist the Internal Communications team in supporting global change and leading North American internal communication efforts.
A key position in the Internal Communications team, the Internal Communications Technical Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting the company’s new global employee portal through innovative technological tools to help inspire, educate and engage employees in the North American region. The ideal candidate is a proven leader in this area and will help the Internal Communications team as the company transitions to its new global employee portal.
Responsibilities include:
Working closely with the Internal Communications team and other key company organizations to provide the latest technical solutions to support aligning employees with company objectives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing strategy with the members of the workforce portal team to provide the best means for achieving two-way communication with employees. As the Technical Support Specialist, you will provide data analysis to allow the core team to continually adjust and improve our suite of communication tools to ensure messaging supports company objectives.
- Experience with the latest variety of technical solutions for Internal Communication and the ability to share that experience with non-technical team members
- Active participation in and knowledge of social media and social networking sites/tools
- Proven leader in global portal ICT strategy/management support
- On-going global portal site development, maintenance, asset management
- Portal site statistics analysis and management
- Can-do attitude and a sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment

Technology
- Maintain a sound information architecture including menu structure, site layout, page design, content creation
- Support homepage governance to maintain a proper balance of content and tools
- Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) leveraging Google Analytics
- Experiencing developing and/or sourcing graphics leveraging tools such as the Adobe creative suite
- Experience coding in HTML, Javascript, CSS, and various other web-technologies
- Experience with Web Content Management solutions, including the ability to work within their constraints to achieve the desired graphic and business results
- Keep abreast of Intranet trends and best practice to share what is new for possible adoption and its potential impact on current systems
- Support mass company-wide mass email distribution including using technical system for formatting content and maintaining distribution lists
- Maintain digital sign system used by corporate communications including content creator support, content distribution and system trouble-shooting
Project Management/Platform Management
- Work closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and involve them in planning and problem solving (including Communications, ICT, HR, Risk and Legal, as well as executives and administrative staff)
- Ensure proper coordination between FCA’s ICT Department and intranet software suppliers
- Liaise with FCA’s ICT Department and software suppliers on technical questions including implementation activities and upgrades
- Conducting regular needs analysis sessions, evaluating usability, recommending and implementing improvements for FCA’s intranet
People and Process
- Coordinate the efforts of content owners/creators
- Support intranet group owners in maintaining active communities
- Provide training to users of all different levels (including average users, content owners, news authors, group owners)
- Work with site content owners/creators on training, providing advice, building ownership, and finding new content owners/creators
- Oversee authoring and proper use of online channels for official company news and content types created by corporate communications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in ICT, technical support or related field
- Experience creating and supporting employee intranets (preferably in WordPress, SharePoint or LumApps), Sharepoint, Adobe Suite, G Suite, Workplace by Facebook or similar
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Communications, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in ICT, technical support or related field
- Experience in automotive other major industry communications
- Experience working with Internal Communications teams
- Graphic design, Photoshop experience
