General Summary
The Product Code Specialist is responsible for knowing product code guidelines, setting up, updating and auditing product codes and performs various administrative functions to provide support to a department/plant. This role can office from any UFP location.
Works under immediate supervision; relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job; job functions require exercising independent judgment.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
- Identifies researches, and resolves administrative problems and opportunities in regards to product codes.
- Learns and enforces the product code guidlines.
- Processes and creates all product codes for the company.
- Troubleshoots any problems within area of responsibility
- Prepares reports as requested by management
- Performs other duties as required.
- Can office from any UFP location.
Requirements
Knowledge Required
- Minimum high school diploma
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in administration/accounting; however, 3 to 5 years is preferred
- Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Working knowledge of various office equipment (computer, scanner, etc.)
Skills and abilities
- Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking
- Proficiency in the use of business math
- Ability to successfully communicate with all organizational levels
- Ability to communicate clearly and politely via phone and email with plants, co-workers, vendors, and others
- Ability to develop relationships with vendors and customers
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload with minimum supervision
- Ability to follow directions and instructions
- Ability to work hours mandated by management
- Ability to pass a drug test
