MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO ASSIGNMENT THROUGH AUGUST 29TH
The Outpatient Lab is a department within the Laboratory that performs lab specimen collections (mostly venous blood draws). The Outpatient Labs for GR (26 total locations, 20 currently open) are currently performing COVID nares observed collections. As a result, we need team members who can support witnessing these observed collections as they will be in addition to our normal volume of patients.
Team members in this role will work at one of our open lab locations around Grand Rapids with our current team members to observe COVID collections. This process involves greeting patients, explaining the process of collection, standing 6 ft from the patient, and directing them as they collect the swab specimen themselves (this is a nares (nostril) collection NOT a nasopharyngeal). The specimen is then labeled, logged in and prepared for transport to the main lab.
