About the Production Supervisor Job
WORK HOURS - 9 hr. shift. 45-hour work week. Primarily 7:15 am - 4:15 pm, M - F, weekend work required. Need to be available to come in early or stay late. Will consider candidates interested in other shifts.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for all shift activities including planning and scheduling, as well as acting as a liaison with Material Handling. Directly responsible for the supervision of subordinate group leaders and indirectly supervise their reports. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned units.
Job Duties include:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, training and coaching new employees, rewarding and disciplining employees; recommending and executing disciplinary actions, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensures that (SOPs) standard operating procedures, government regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety guidelines are followed.
Ensures smooth transition for following shifts.
Communicates all issues to proper departments and works to resolve.
Ensures line efficiencies are maintained and product is made in good quality.
Ensures that production lines are cleaned and maintained.
Performs staffing analysis and schedules and plans for new jobs
Recognizes and solve problems by identifying the cause, determining solutions and implementing corrective actions
Interfaces effectively with all departments
Assigns coverage and responsibility for supervision of plant to Assistant Supervisors during absence.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required, college coursework or completed degree in a related field preferred.
2 - 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; would consider lead experience.
Food industry experience preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office
Experience with an ERP system and report out experience, SAP preferred
Good written and verbal communication skills and experience doing presentations.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Experience using lean principles (5S, workflow) preferred
