Title: Paper Machine Superintendent The purpose of this position is to be an integral part of the Production Management team, recommending and supporting improvements for production, operational efficiency, and safe operations. * Assists Operations personnel in resolving manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure safe operations and prevent operational delays and downtime while minimizing costs. * Capable of performing paperboard production troubleshooting in all areas of manufacturing: stock prep, paper machines, and rewinding. * Examines procedures and recommends changes to improve quality and operating efficiency, and to maximize productivity. Plans and executes trials to achieve desired results. * Participates in various team activities (Safety, Lean-sigma, etc.), providing leadership to keep teams goals and results consistent with company direction. * Capable of fulfilling duties of Superintendents in their absence (vacations, training, etc.) on an as needed basis * Provides coverage for supervisor vacancies (absences, vacations, training, etc.) on an as needed basis. * Provides weekend coverage in production department rotation POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * A bachelor's degree in paper technology or associated program and 3 years previous paper machine experience preferred * Minimum of seven years previous production experience on paper machines (cylinder board exp. preferred) * Demonstrated involvement in the implementation of safety initiatives * Good written and verbal communication skills * Advanced computer skills * Good interpersonal skills * Good analytical and troubleshooting skills * Good organizational skills At Graphic Packaging International (NYSE: GPK), we produce the box you may have poured your child's cereal from this morning, the microwaveable tray that heated your lunch, the paper cup that held your coffee throughout the day, and the carrier of those bottles of craft beer you may enjoy tonight!
