Sales Director - Fabric
Job Overview:
Lead Customer interface for advanced sales function for the region. Lead commercial activities and tracking completion to support the Adient Business Strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
Sales/Commercial
- Lead Advanced Sales/Commercial Development function for fabrics at the OEM and Tier levels for the region. Serve as key customer interface/product lead and leverage organization resources of the group to manage technical sales process. Lead quoting/pricing strategy to achieve business acquisition targets.
- Identification, targeting, and acquisition of new business opportunities that support Product group growth and profitability commitments aligned to strategic growth targets, responsible for defining and sharing the customer and program priorities for the region to the Fabric leadership team; Responsible for submission and recording of documentation to customer (quote, SOW, customer specific documents)
- Lead PLUS Phase 0/1 quoting process and deliverables including TBL Entry, Program Start, Quote and Go Award meetings for the region and support sales mgrs to prepare required documentation for decisions.
- Support/Lead Phase 2-6 (and service parts) commercial management to maintain/increase margins. Management of Commercial Issues List and closure of commercial issues within the committed timeframes, including support of cash/account receivable management (i.e. prototype/production pricing, tooling, E&D)
- Lead interaction with Sales teams and leadership from other product groups in the region to share and align on business opportunities and customer targets/strategies.
Customer
- Primary point of contact with related Customer teams. Development of strong customer relationships that deliver value to the company and provide for increased confidence/desire to work with Adient (partly measured through Customer Satisfaction survey); effectively communicate the benefits, key messages, and technical specifications of the Adient product portfolio to create win-win solutions.
- Provide "voice of the customer" to Fabric leadership team and functional leads and develop with team opportunities to improve overall customer interaction.
- Maintain customer relationship matrix for key and senior contacts and prioritization matrix to identify priority customers for the regional growth
Process
- Support innovation processes and drive with team, sales strategies for commercializing innovations to gain business awards for the projects
- Preparation and presentation to Adient leadership of Program Financial Information (Business Plan, Cash Flow, Amortization Schedules, Capital Appropriation Requests, Tooling Authorizations, etc.);
- Drive competitiveness and financial improvements with appropriately aggressive challenges to cost data provided (design, material, capital, tooling, and start-up);
- Provide/collect market information (customer, competitor, etc.) relative to product (i.e. benchmark designs), pricing/cost (i.e. trim rate per minute, machine rates, foam chemical costs, conversion rate per foam carrier), and commercial strategy/direction.
- Ensure timely updates and accuracy of sales forecasting data (currently GPS) for the region.
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 12+ years of fabric/textiles or other soft trim sales background is required but must have some fabric /textile background
- Strong organization skills with follow-through and a focus on "the details"
- Ability to communicate and cooperate with people at all levels both inside and outside the company
- Experience of leading sales teams and ability to empower direct reports and others to achieve results through motivation, recognition, goal setting and regular performance feedback
- The ability to build partnerships with internal and external customers
- A history of success, working toward tight deadlines, multi-tasking and operating in an environment with shifting priorities
- Exceptional skills with Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office packages
