SUMMARY
The Account Manager is responsible for developing strong, long-term relationships at many levels within current and prospective customer base through both personal and telephone visits. Additionally, they will make timely sales calls on assigned accounts and prospects to ensure that the company obtains access to the customer's bids lists and has an opportunity to bid on their requirements that fall within the company's product lines and securing orders to meet the Corporate Strategic Plan. The Account Manager will also assist other departments in obtaining information, documentation, etc. from customers which are needed to keep jobs on schedule.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or 5 years experience in machine system sales.
- Minimum of 1O years experience working directly with customers in machine tool equipment/systems.
Preferred:
- Previous sales, engineering and or proposal engineering experience in the "Special Machine " tool industry.
- Excellent contacts at various levels in current and prospective customer base.
- Proficiency in as many of the following languages as possible: German , Spanish, Chinese, French, Korean.
- Five years of international business experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships at many levels (including plant and purchasing manager levels) within current and prospective customer base through both personal and telephone visits.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and agendas to customers.
- Participate in group discussions and speak before an audience with poise, control and confidence using correct English.
- Compute ratios, rates, discounts, interest, profit and loss, commissions and percentages.
- Prepare business correspondence, meeting minutes and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
- Secure requests for quotation and orders to meet the Corporate Strategic Plan.
- Prepare account/prospect strategies for increased sales penetration. Provide feedback to assist in anticipating and meeting customer needs and resolving customer concerns.
- Attend job lineup meetings and proposal lineup meetings either alone or coordinate with additional support personnel.
- Manage sales leads and opportunities.
- Assist as required in obtaining necessary parts prints, tryout parts design approvals, POA's, NOR's, etc.
- Maintain continual contact with the customer through the project, providing feedback to company management should the customer have concerns or needs.
- Proactively pursue the collection of accounts receivable.
- Revise and update sales forecasts in a timely manner when requested by the VP-Global Sales & Marketing.
- Prepare weekly itinerary and sales call reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
A requirement of this position is that extended overnight business travel, domestic and/or international, may be necessary relating to responsibilities associated with projects that you are assigned to. Travel expenses and allowances will be paid based on the company travel policy in effect at the time the actual travel takes place. Individuals traveling on company business are encouraged to receive Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommended vaccinations that will be provided by the company through travel and/or occupational clinics or your personal physician.

Customers, VP Global Sales & Marketing, Manager of Proposal Engineering, Product Team Members, Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to speak a foreign language.
- Ability to prepare business correspondences, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports using prescribed format.
- Ability to listen to comments, statements, questions, etc., interpret what was said, and relay this information to the appropriate individual.

- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, mathematical or diagram form.
