Summary:
The Plant Manager oversees all functions at the plant level at Port City Metal Products (PCMP) facility for Port City Group, a Division of Pace Industries. The Plant Manager serves as a cross functional team leader, working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers to facilitate operations and maintain the effectiveness of the value stream. The Plant Manager will oversee and delegate the actions needed to meet customer demand and drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the Plant Manager will be instrumental launching new business, succession planning and culture development within PCMP. The Plant Manager is responsible for the growth and development of the team at PCMP. The Plant Manager will oversee succession planning efforts, work with departmental managers to develop each team member to their next level and strive to ensure that everyone is working on training their own replacement in order to promote growth and facilitate timely promotions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Know, comprehend, and support the deployment of company policies and procedures.
- Provide input with corporate staff for the creation and ongoing use of the plant "Quality Plan".
- Direct resources to maintain customer satisfaction (schedules, quality, past dues, new launch support, and necessary containment). Expected to practice and maintain the highest level of professional character in dealing with internal and external needs.

- Operates within planned budgets, works with Regional Controller to understand financial goals and performance, strives to improve financial performance and profitability.
- Ensures safety measures are considered and that appropriate measures are taken to promote safe operations for all employees.
- Working with the Engineering Department, the Plant Manager will ensure manufacturing standards are established and disseminated appropriately as new business is acquired.
- Provides resources and coaching as necessary to improve metrics.
- Meets with each department within the plant as necessary to assess performance and provide resources.
- Oversees the development process, tracks performance, and provides resources to meet goals.
- Ensures a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and works with the EHS Department to ensure compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Spearheads cost savings projects generating healthy ROIA's and driving improved EBITDA performance.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering or other technical discipline is preferred (equivalent years' experience will be considered).
- Experience in departmental management in a manufacturing setting. Well versed in IATF and ISO standards for quality and environmental management systems.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, and application in an automotive setting.
- Must have expert understanding of problem-solving concepts and techniques. Must be able to lead teams and work independently as necessary to resolve daily issues and manage projects as necessary for continuous improvement purposes. Serves as a mentor for direct and indirect reports in the understanding and implementation of problem-solving tools.
- Personal computer skills are required, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
