To supervise a shift and assist meeting production requirements by ensuring that the proper quantity and quality of parts are being finished and standards maintained. To ensure that employees are properly trained and documented in. Work efficiently, receive regular job performance feedback and work safely in a safe workplace.
To comply with and have subordinates comply with TS, ISO, TPS, Lean and 5-S requirements and procedures and schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that employees have sufficient job training and information to efficiently perform their tasks in terms of quality, quantity and scrap with frequent follow-ups after initiation.
- Manages employee time off requests and time card approvals through time and attendance system.
- Participate in the team effort of the quality department and engineering staff to maintain a smooth flow of production parts of the highest quality.
- To report any equipment malfunction immediately to maintenance.
- Rectifying quality or production problems by discussing situation with the Quality/Production Manager to decide on action to be taken.
- Actively participate in 5-S meetings to determine and implement actions that will improve the plants success.
- Delegate work assignments to the Team Leaders ensuring complete understanding so that quality standards and customer delivery dates and TPS standards are met.
- Making recommendations on required changes to cell layouts, and equipment ensuring better quality parts, less scrap, and to improve efficiencies.
- Monitoring department and taking whatever corrective action is necessary to maintain.
- Oversee all production direct and indirect employees.
- Practice, support, and teach lean, 5-S, TPS and ISO procedures, policies and schedules.
- Ensure all employees are correctly and actively completing forklift inspections, Layered Process Audits, and 5-S assignments.
- Ensure that all production reporting done by them, or their subordinates is being completed accurately and on time on a consistent basis.
- Never disabling any Poke'-Yoke' or items that are intended to ensure the quality of parts or the safe operation of any secondary or moulding equipment without permission of a manager, and then only with the proper deviation in place.
- Fully informing the Production/Operations Manager of all events affecting plant operations.
- Correctly reporting production.
- Review daily shift production report.
- Discuss and advise Team Leaders of the daily production requirements and relay any special instructions to them.
- Communicate the need of assistance from the maintenance department through the use of the Maintenance Work Request System.
- Observing and recognizing the best qualities of the employees and expanding upon them.
- To Listen to employee problems and concerns when they arise and to seek a prompt mutually acceptable resolution.
- Advise Human Resources /Operations Manager promptly of all unusual/or abnormal personnel problems.
- Making recommendations to Operations Manager and Human Resources Dept.
- Inform new employees of company policies, practices and procedures.
- Oversee progress of training, ensuring that employees meet job standards within the probationary period.
- When a probationary employee does not meet the job standard, discuss with Human Resources and Operations Manager and take the necessary steps for termination or discipline of the employee.
- Participate with employee and Team Leader in ongoing performance reviews and standards as well as maintaining necessary records, providing the same to the Human Resources Dept.
- Works in a manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the Occupational Safety & Health Act and the regulations.
- Uses or wears the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker's employer requires to be used or worn.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Act and the regulations.
- Advise a worker of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health or safety of the worker of which the supervisor is aware.
- Where so prescribed, provide a worker with written instructions as to the measures and procedures to be taken for protection of the worker.
- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.
- Ensure that first aid treatment is given to injured employee, immediately seek assistance as required.
- Complete First Aid Course and when necessary, provide first aid treatment to an injured employee. Immediately seek whatever assistance is required and ensure that the accident and first aid report is prepared immediately and given to the Human Resources Dept. and/or the General Manager.
- To ensure that no person(s) enters company property for the purpose of solicitation, reporting all solicitation attempts to the General Manager.
- To ensure that no unauthorized people enter the company facilities. Verify that all doors are locked and lights, equipment, etc. are turned off when required.
- Ensure that the building is a clean and safe workplace at all times.
- Must not disclose to any person, without the Company's consent, any information concerning its inventions, processes, methods, trade secrets, or secret procedures owned or used by the Company or any confidential information in any way relating to the Company's business or affairs
- Report all incidents, accidents and/or hazards.
- Wear and/or use the appropriate personal protective equipment as required for the position (defined).
- Performs housekeeping activities as required.
- Where so prescribed, provide a worker with written instructions as to the measures and procedures to be taken for protection of the worker.
- To ensure that all new tooling is adequately safeguarded before it is put into service.
- Provide and/or participate in training as required.
- Perform compulsory overtime as necessary.
- Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures as stated in the ABC Group Employee Handbook.
- Perform other work duties when assigned.
- Reports to supervisor any incident (or potential hazard) where damage to the environment (air, water, soil) might occur.
- Work in compliance with ISO14001 Policy, environmental legislation and Company issued policies and
