Job Description Summary | The department of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks a tenure-track assistant professor who would contribute to the research mission of the College of Engineering. We seek candidates with post-doctoral or industry/academic experience. Candidates with experience in modeling, estimation, design and security of large-scale complex systems, cyber-physical transportation, communication and power system infrastructure security, and distributed decision making are needed to help advance the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as we work to improve our ability to make decisions that impact logistics, health and human safety. |
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) | Teach core undergraduate classes in engineering as well as graduate courses related to their own research expertise. Establish a rigorous externally funded research program. Be recognized by your peers for excellence in research and creation of knowledge. Foster and Contribute to a collaborative culture within your workplace. Engage in professional service activities within the department, university, community, and technical organizations. Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements) | Earned doctorate in an electrical engineering discipline or closely related field. |
Required Experience (minimum requirements) | Authoring of peer-reviewed manuscripts and experience in research projects is required. A strong publication record is required. Post-doctoral or academic research experience. |
Desirable Education and/or Experience | Experience in grant writing, student mentoring, and teaching is desired. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements) | Ability to teach core undergraduate classes is required. Ability to establish an externally funded research program is required. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff. |
