Responsibilities
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Responsible for the development and maintenance of computer-based application systems designed to increase corporate efficiency and satisfy corporate information requirements. The development process includes user requirements definition, systems design, program implementation, system enhancements and program modifications for problem resolutions that comprise the maintenance cycle.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-1. Prepare program specifications and design file formats, screen, input forms and reports. This function includes: interviewing department users and preparing user requirement documentation based on analysis and interpretation of the data; and design application systems based on the requirements and hardware/software considerations.
-2. Translate program specifications into efficient code.
-3. Coordinate and perform test planning and testing to verify program accuracy.
4. Produce and maintain complete program documentation to facilitate proper operation and maintenance of programs and assist in producing and maintaining system documentation.
5. Assist in training users affected by the implementation of new or revised systems.
6. Function as a technical consultant and may be required to research and write technical reports, prepare presentations, and evaluate new software packages as needed.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
A. Education
1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field
2. Technical training in systems/screen design, client/server application development, and relational database concepts and design
B. Experience
1. Four (4) years of application programming, preferring UNIX, Oracle (9i and 10g preferred), SQL, PL/SQL, Crystal Reports, Cognos or other reporting tools
2. Three (3) years of application system design and project management experience
3. Experience in Package system Implementation and Package system Maintenance
4. Knowledge of Health Care, Managed Care and Medicare Advantage products a plus
5. Experience in Data Warehousing concepts and ETL tools also recommended
6. Experience in Relational Database Concepts
