Warranty Co-op IT Data Systems Engineer
Job Description Summary
The Warranty Co-op IT Data Systems Engineer- is responsible for organizing, maintaining, analyzing, maintaining, and supporting key warranty networks and office systems.
Job Description
- Learning about all of AAMs products (axles, prop shafts, PTUs, transfer cases, RDMs, etc.) from the aspect of what went wrong and investigation of what issues the parts had in the field.
- Pulling Customer Warranty data so we can track each month what parts were returned to the dealerships by cost, labor codes and cases.
- Organize and prioritize work, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to meet management goals.
- Expand technical knowledge, explore leading technologies, and make recommendations to management of new solutions/methods to improve systems performance and efficiencies.
- Interfacing with cross-functional teams throughout AAM both Corporate and Plant (Product Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Gear Lab Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.).
- Follow establish procedures and utilize management metrics and reporting systems.
- Provide data mining and statistical analysis using the appropriate tool set as required by the end user.
Required Skills and Education
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science/IT (BSCS), with technical knowledge in computer programming languages and systems integration design, modeling, development and testing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office & Windows operating systems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Successfully complete assigned projects and tasks on time.
- Strong ability to work within teams or self-directed.
- Job hours: 15 - 30 hours a week.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Up to a 4 year assignment (Prefer Freshman or Sophomore)
- High level of analytical ability
- High level of oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in a foreign language strongly preferred.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship
