The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for providing tactical HR support to business leaders and building people capability in support of business goals and objectives aligned with corporate-wide strategies. The Human Resources Business Partner will provide functional expertise, leadership, support and guidance to business unit leaders. Partner closely with business unit leaders, managers and HR colleagues to build a high performance organization and culture. Represent the HR function by communicating philosophies, processes, policies, and capabilities to business unit leaders. Provide hands-on human resources expertise in the areas of employee relations, recruiting and on-boarding, employee development, training, compensation, organizational development and more. Monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures and legislation. Work with the business in resource planning, including recruiting, organizational design, job evaluation and definition and managing the performance appraisal, development, advancement and compensation processes within the business. Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions and improvement and exit strategies. Proactively identify employee development needs and work to develop methods and processes to meet the needs of the business. Assist in the development and deployment of a robust talent management platform and succession planning process, in collaboration with the business and corporate resources. Participate with others in completing special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Business Partner or generalist in increasingly responsible roles
- Highly proficient in Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Broad HR technical expertise and systems knowledge – working knowledge of HR functional areas through prior experience as an HR generalist
- Act as thinking partner/coach for business leadership on various HR issues & processes impacting the strategic and long range business plans
- Ability to collaborate with shared services organization, centers of excellence and other HR business partner groups
- Change advocacy/consulting skills – effective in implementing change within role, seeks to learn and implement best practices
- Strategic thinking – ability to think globally and strategically
- Customer focus – demonstrated ability to exceed customer expectations and deliver on commitments
- Ability to analyze data and rationalize to decisions that add value to the business
