Leader Talent & Org Development
Job Description Summary
The successful candidate will provide hands-on talent management and organizational development support and leadership to a core Business Unit in order to build staff/leadership capabilities. The candidate will need to mobilize support, determine talent solutions and implement strategies that help build the Business Unit's leadership pipeline, ensure there's a focus on talent within the Business Unit, and shape operational practices that lead to accountable, timely, meaningful results. It is essential the candidate can work effectively in a fast, agile fashion within a high change environment and demonstrate an ability to partner with HR and influence senior leadership to ensure the most strategic talent approach is used. This requires working skillfully at multiple levels of staff and plant leadership.
Job Description
- Align the Business Unit's Talent strategy with the overall corporate talent strategy and processes; act as a consultant to coach HR and Senior Leaders in Talent & OD best practices
- Diagnose root cause performance gaps, partner with HR and other Talent & OD professionals to design and deliver a wide range of interventions: change management, team performance, talent management, coaching and team development - all to improve organizational effectiveness and the talent pipeline
- Align with Talent & OD to consult and facilitate critical talent cycle components such as succession planning, talent assessments, key experiences, career development planning and mapping talent strategies to business plans
- Collaborate with Business Unit HR Team (Plant & Corporate) to improve performance and to embed OD/talent competencies across the operation
- Develop and deliver clear, effective key messages in written communications; able to facilitate roles and presentations to all levels in the organization. Functions as a culture-shaping change agent that transforms the way staff and leaders think, act, and communicate in a performance driven organization
- Support People Leaders to build team excellence, resolve team conflicts, and enable cross-team collaboration across a challenging, diverse, matrix organization
- Partner with Learning to design, develop, and facilitate high impact team development sessions, and learning opportunities to assist with career pathing that maximize learner participation, comprehension and application of the material
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Organization Psychology, Organizational Development (OD), Organizational Effectiveness (OE), Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or relevant field (or equivalent experience); Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Requires a minimum six to eight years of experience in some combination of organizational development, talent development at all levels, coaching, experiential learning, practical team interventions, instructional design and/or talent management.
- Mature skills in senior-level stakeholdering, needs assessment, team facilitation, high impact instructional delivery and performance coaching.
- Strong presence, poise, persuasiveness. Ability to establish high level of credibility quickly; appropriate confidence to gain the trust and respect of key stakeholders and learners.
- Performance-driven, pro-active, results-oriented, stakeholder-focused; comfortable and flexible with changing priorities, high levels of ambiguity, non-routine issues.
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced deadline-intensive environment; anticipate obstacles and plan contingencies.
- Ability to think strategically while delivering practical solutions.
- Demonstrates effective collaboration and teamwork with all levels across the organization
- Experience utilizing assessment tool for needs assessment, manager and employee development, selection, team effectiveness, employee engagement.
- Intermediate to mastery level proficiency with Lominger talent management and competency solutions
- Strong Project Management skills
