About the Role
Interface with relevant groups to ensure that necessary validation activities are included in the project plans and that all planned qualification activities occur. Participate in the development of new EMC test methods per customer requirements
- Creates, the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) for responsible products.
- Interface with other Harman quality organizations to ensure all qualification issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Responsible for developing electrical and mechanical tests and analysis for electronic components to determine that processed materials are meeting required standards and specifications, while maintaining and updating reports, files, and test data as required.
- Responsible for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.
- Develops and prepares preliminary drawings or sketches showing proposed specifications, design characteristics, wiring diagrams, BOM (Bill of Material), etc. and also makes recommendations regarding these items for consideration and evaluation by Manager.
- Schedule testing activities for an assigned project, e.g. estimate required hours and record actual vs. estimated, assist with and resolve scheduling problems for assigned project/job and determine feasibility.
- Works form detailed drawings, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, as well as verbal and written instructions.
- Responsible for training as required for specific test setups.
- Responsible to perform other tasks as business needs require or as assigned by management.
- Must have the necessary experience to review and suggest improvements to EMC test setups when necessary as well as to supervise the job performed by both EMC technicians and coops
- Must get familiar and follow the quality system, contribuiting to the overall success of the laboratory to keep both the ISO 17025 accreditation as well as our customers recognition
What You Need
- BSEE, BSEET, BSCS, BS Physics or equivalent minimum requirement.
- 2+ years EMC qualification or related experience, automotive industry background highly desirable.
- Advanced EMC and test solutions knowledge for automotive industries.
- Physical Demands
- Limited manual dexterity required.
- Work requires handling light weight materials (i.e. Automotive Battery) or equipment with no special speed or exertion.
- Working Conditions
- Ordinary office, shop, field, or warehouse working conditions with some slightly disagreeable features.
- Hazards
- Negligible. Little or no exposure to hazards.

- This position requires the use of a use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle.
