Job Summary
The Business Reporting Analyst within Corporate MIS and Analytics provides dedicated reporting and analytics support to an assigned Line of Business. Primary responsibilities include requirements gathering, data mining, and reporting/analytics development in support of key operational processes. Customers include Line of Business team members and Line of Business management. Analyst must be able to work in a team and individual setting managing multiple priorities. Technical proficiency is required in Excel, Access, and SQL with a willingness to learn additional reporting and business intelligence software.
Job Responsibilities:
* Participate on cross-functional teams including IT and line of business to develop stakeholder requirements for reporting solutions.
* Validate and reconcile reported results using corporate wide data governance standards and CMISA reporting procedures.
* Develop requirements for reporting solutions based on interaction with Line of Business key stakeholders.
* Design and develop solutions using appropriate BI/Reporting tools in support of stakeholder requirements.
* Provide analytics to provide clarity and context for reported results; present reported results to appropriate level of management.
* Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
* 2-5 years mortgage business and report development experience.
* 1+ years of experience in Cognos report/dashboard development strongly preferred.
* Strong skills in MS Excel and MS Access.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Good understanding of the business supported.
* Proven ability to gather requirements from business clients.
* Proven ability to create professional presentations of trends and data that are clear and concise for use by the business client.
* Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
* Strong documentation, organizational and time management skills.
* Strong technical, math and analytical skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment composed of other analysts, directors, supervisors, support personnel, internal customers, and vendors.
* Able to work under pressure.
* Manage daily shifting priorities and to provide regular status reports as requested.
* Skills in Cognos and SQL strongly preferred.
