Job Summary
The
Systems Engineer, Automotive
will be based in
Farmington Hills, MI.
Flex Farmington Hills, located in Farmington Hills MI, is a fast-paced design center servicing global customer in the automotive sector. We offer full product development including overall system architecture development, hardware and mechanical design and software development. Flex has an ISO certified environmental and EMC labs in Toronto, Ontario as well as testing chambers, equipment & system design and build capabilities in Farmington Hills.
What a typical day looks like:
Provides requirements leadership and ownership for the product developments using standard requirements management tools and methodologies.
Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.
Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies.
Understands software development and testing.
Tracks customer/project issues and drives resolution.
Serves as one of the lead project development engineers.
Participate in product development meetings.
Responsible for systems level development and testing requirements.
Ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications.
Develops product specifications where applicable.
Develops and/or approves test plans and test reports.
Develops engineering release documentation.
Ensures ISO process conformance such as ASPICE
Use your technical knowledge and experience to participate in customer meetings and technical reviews.
Review and evaluate test results; identify root cause of problems and provide corrective actions and recommendations.
Interact with customer and suppliers to resolve system issues
Participate in customer and internal technical design reviews.
The experience were looking to add to our team:
A Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, electronics or related fields.
Six years or more experience in product development activities as they pertain to automotive electronics.
Experience in all aspects of Design & Development of Automotive Electronic components.
Working knowledge of circuit simulation, WCCA, DFMEA, EMC, DOORS/Polarion.
High level of analytical ability and trouble-shooting where problems are unusual and complex.
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
Master's degree is preferred.
Experience with technologies supporting the development of technology applied to interior consumer electronics.
High level of oral and written communication skills.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and others
Recent hands-on experience in actual circuit design.
ADAS/Autonomous/EV experience desired.
