Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Shuttle Driver, 2nd Shift - Holland, MI to join our team in Holland MI - Distribution.
As a Shuttle Driver, 2nd Shift - Holland, MI, you will:
Operate semi-tractor to transport goods from our suppliers back to our Distribution Center. This role entails driving a daily route with a varying, but high number of daily stops. Primarily, the route will be within 70 miles of Haworth's headquarters, but will change daily based off business needs. The member in this role will also assist with loading and unloading product and will advise suppliers on the best way to load product into the trailers. The member in this position will be responsible for positioning up to 20 load bars weighing approximately 20lbs at each supplier stop. The member in this role will primarily be working from 2PM-10PM with overtime required based off orders and truck conditions. Overtime can be up to 4 hours per day depending on business conditions.
Do you have these required qualifications?
•Two years recent (within last five years) all-weather semi-tractor driving experience and working knowledge of manual transmissions
•High school diploma/GED OR equivalent work experience (equivalent work experience defined as three years semi-tractor driving experience equals one year of formal education, this experience cannot also be used in the work experience requirement above)
•Must have and maintain valid Certified Driver's License (CDL) and be able to obtain and maintain any necessary endorsements/permits (i.e., valid industrial truck operator's permit, hazardous material endorsement) to fulfill all assignments
•Ability to perform the position with or without accommodations (If you have questions please contact the Haworth Medical Center)
•Must pass DOT physical and truck leaser's driving test
•Must pass road test and read maps
•Must have working familiarity with manual transmissions
•Must have an accident-free driving record
•Willing and able to load and unload products and supplies as needed
•Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
•Ability to position up to 20 load bars at each supplier. Load bars weigh approximately 20lbs
•Willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds
Do you have these preferred qualifications?
•Strong knowledge and experience with the road system in West Michigan
•Solid problem-solving skills
•Attention to detail
•Ability to interpret and follow detailed written directions
•Ability to work independently
•Excellent communication skills
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
•Ability to maintain valid CDL
•Ability to obtain and maintain necessary endorsements / permits
•Maintain accident-free driving record
•Ability to read maps
•Working familiarity with manual transmissions.
•Ability to lift/move material weighing up to 60 pounds
