ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER
Job Description Overview
Electrical Controls Engineers are responsible for overall design of the company’s electrical controls. This is a highly visible position both within the company and to its customers. Strength in controls design coupled with proven project management ability and excellent communication skills are hallmarks of a successful Electrical Controls Engineer. This full-time position reports to the Senior Electrical Controls Engineer.
Qualifications
- Dedication to excellence and a quality output.
- Minimum of Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Five-years of experience in controls design.
- Dedication to Excellence and a quality product.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Working knowledge of Windows and general computer operation.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel.
- Working knowledge with various PLC programming software.
- Must be able to work independently, accurately & efficiently.
- Demonstrated communication, organizational & time management skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Responsibilities
The following activities are required in this position:
- Promote excellence throughout the department.
- Design, documentation, testing & troubleshooting of controls.
- Production of detailed electrical schematics and panel layout drawings with bill of material.
- Customer contact with respect to the controls.
- Work closely with the Design Group detailing exactly what is required in any given panel.
- Providing Engineering support to internal departments.
- Guide and assist Service Department.
- Panel & Logic check-out in the shop before shipment.
- “Ownership” and responsibility for projects.
- Interpretation of Customer requirements/specifications.
- Travel to customer sites as needed.
- Work closely and communicate with other departments regarding current projects.
- Panel check out in shop before shipment.
- Controls Design Engineers represent the company at a high level and must conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Others as required by the Senior Controls Design Engineer.
