Job Summary
The
Power Electronics System Engineer
will be based in
Farmington Hills, Michigan
. You will be responsible for the system engineering aspects of the design and development of high-voltage power electronic (400V/800V) modules that will be part of the electric vehicle system for major automotive OEMs.
Flex Farmington Hills, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a fast-paced design center servicing global customer in the automotive sector. We offer full product development including overall system architecture development, hardware and mechanical design and software development. Flex has an ISO certified environmental and EMC labs in Toronto, Ontario as well as testing chambers, equipment & system design and build capabilities in Farmington Hills.
What a typical day looks like:
Providesrequirements leadership and ownershipfor the product developments using standard requirements management tools and methodologies.
Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.
Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies.
Tracks customer/project issues and drives resolution.
Serves as one of the lead project development engineers.
Participate inproduct development meetings.
Support manufacturing requirements and best practices. Responsible for systems level development and testing requirements.
Ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications.
Develops product specifications where applicable. Develops and/or approves test plans and test reports.
Develops engineering release documentation. Ensures ISO process conformance such as ASPICE and ISO26262
Use your technical knowledge and experience to participate in customer meetings and technical reviews.
Review and evaluate test results; identify root cause of problems and provide corrective actions and recommendations.
Interact with customer and suppliers to resolve system issues Participate in customer and internal technical design reviews.
The experience were looking to add to our team:
A Bachelors degreeor higher in electrical engineering, system engineering or related fields.
Three years or moreexperience in product development activities as they pertain to electric vehicle systems.
Solid knowledge base around power electronics circuits and technologies.
Knowledge of simulation tools software such as MATLAB & Simulink.
Working knowledge of DFMEA, Product Validation, and Requirements Management.
High level of analytical ability and trouble-shooting where problems are unusual and complex.
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
Experience with technologies supporting the development oftechnologyapplied to electricvehicle architectureis preferred.
High level of oral and written communication skills. High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and others Hands-on experience in product testing
